When starting my Paleo diet I was afraid I would never get to eat my favorite treat ever again,
pancakes. However after complaining about this to a friend of mine I received a link to the recipe below and I have been making them ever since. Even if you’re not on a
Paleo diet you should try these because they will make your tastebuds tingle!
Almond Butter Pancakes With Dark Chocolate Recipe
- Prep: 10 mins
- Cook: 15 mins
- Ready In: 25 mins
Ingredients
- 1 cup almond butter choose an almond butter with no sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/8 cup milled flax seed
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/2 heaping tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- coconut oil
Instructions
- Heat skillet on medium high heat
- Mix together all ingredients except chocolate chips to form a batter
- Once batter is formed, fold in chocolate chips
- Put coconut oil in skillet
- Scoop about 1/4 cup of batter into skillet
- Cook a couple of minutes on each side being careful not to burn the cakes
- Top with real maple syrup, melted butter, or warm fruit compote
- Eat!
